Spring has landed and with it the downhill mountain bike season is well underway. Athletes of all levels are carving up trails – keeping on top of their game or just having fun. We sat down with team LifeProof rider and one of the sport’s most recognisable superstars Brendan Fairclough to learn about his favourite European trails. We’ve already packed our gear and are set to hit up some of these tracks to train with the best. Planning your own trip? If you’re lucky enough you might even get a chance to see Brendan ripping it up.
Surrey Hills, UK
It sounds a bit cringe but at this time of the year nowhere beats my home place of the Surrey Hills. Coming into summer you can’t really beat it, the ground is perfect. There are no big jumps, just an awesome vibe that can’t be beat. I’ve grown up, filmed, crashed out and created epic moments on these tracks and it will always be my number one spot. – Brendan Fairclough
Schladming World Cup Track, Austria
There is something special about this place, the amazing little town and a rad track for racers. I’ve enjoyed ripping this track at the UCI MTB World Tour every year. Hosting 3 downhill runs that are all totally different, it has something for every rider, I think there’s even a dirt park to hit some big tricks. – Brendan Fairclough
Check out Brendog carving it up at this rad track on a Gambler 710 from SCOTT Sports.
Morzine Trails, France
I don’t know what to say other than this place is rad and they’ve killed it when creating these runs. The area is like a mecca, with thousands of km of downhill and cross country trails and a lift on hand, you can spend all day ripping up the tracks with mates or competing in the UCI World Cup. – Brendan Fairclough
